what im charging
« on: August 26, 2005, 05:00:57 pm »
hi all
im just starting of and have been thinking alot about the prices to charge after much thought this is wat i have come up with i am planning to charge per room at

single bedrooms        £35
double bedrooms      £38
standard lounge       £38
through lounge         £70

and with h/s/l break it up into three units charging £20 per unit
and also offering a 10% discount for 3 or more rooms done at once and 20% if i do the whole house in 1 go

i live in the south of england and hope to be working in some very nice parts of essex and hertfordshire

just looking for any feedback on these prices, i know every time this subject comes up every1 says charge what you want per hour but you must appreciate for those of us new to the game its very hard to calculate how long jobs will take i belive that comes with experience and im sure the more you do the quicker and better you become at it as with everything

It is difficult to decide on pricing particularly when starting...after 5 years i still dither at times particul;arly with friends and poor little old ladies , who after they have paid tell me there off on a world cruise for 6 months..
genrally any bedroom  £65. 2BEDROOMS 85. SINGLE ROOM DOWNSTAIRS 65.. through lounge  85/90,h/s/l 65.3pce suite 145. large houses jobs over 200 look at and them 250 for day or most of day... chee3rs simon

thanks for that simon its appreciated i left of my charges for suites i was thinking of £20 per seat, you dont say what part of the country your from as every1 i ask seems to think the prices vary by the area, and also do you personally think your prices are quite reasonable and you have priced them to sell or do you think your quite dear but know you do a proffesional job for the money,

iv got my first proper job to quote in a hour and i really want to get it as its a 5 bedroom house and i know the owner gets it cleaned every 2 months and also has her own company with six small offices so would be an ideal first job for me

Ive not been in the businees too long.. about a year, and am doing really well. ( Thanks to instruction and training from Paul Pearce).
I quote by the square foot. I use a laser measuring machine and doing it that way I give the customer an exact price for the exact amount of carpet to be cleaned.
All rooms are different in size, carpets differ. The staining or dirt my be easier to clean than on another. So I would never give a price for a lounge, bedroom etc. I dont believe it's the way to go, but that choice is up to you.
