its worth it just to see where everyone who looks at your website comes from and when they looked ;D ;D ;D

Yea its a good tool Mike, it doesnt actually tell you who looks at your website though, if you log into your control panel provided by your web host, most will give you the same sort of thing as mentioned, plus the ip address's of visitors or domain names, although that said mine doesnt give time spent on a page etc.

Google analytics is a good free tool to see if adwords is working for any sites you control. Or it is interesting if you dont have access to your control panel. Like you say you can see how many of our friends in america or australia have looked and when.

Hi Mike

Hope your well?

Information is only any good to you if you know what your looking for and how to then use that info.

In the past I used this type of info for writing articles and keywords. By doing this you bring more of the same type of clicks to your site.

For example, as i looked down the list each month I kept getting hits for "safe carpet cleaning for babies/Kids" so it made sense to expand on this at first with articles and then a URL

When i was working on it i did see an upturn in work with mums with new Born's. but the problem is that you have to keep working at it.

The problem with keywords and articles is its all a game that google plays. The free listing game is hard work and with google changing the rules all the time its one that you cant win. just look at any page cache date if you dont update or add to that page in the month it will go into googles sand box

Why? because from day one google know that the top three slots where where the real money is in a market so that's why it reserves them for its customers.

I know you guys with lots of number one listing will not agree with that but just stop and think if you had adwords working then how much more money could you make and with a much wider keyword base.

I give you an example. i have one top free listing slot for my southend site. before i got hacked it was getting about 60 hits a day but over the month no work. its because its not really number one. because of adwords and google maps are above.

I think google is very cleaver playing this game as the only way for us to find out the truth is by playing it. and the experts will not tell you as thats how they make their money.

So what i am saying is that numbers can help but will always be second to the power of what money can buy and that a top three slot.

so, if you use the keywords from this info and then put them into your AdWords that works. also one very important other item of info is the time spent on a page. if its low then people don't like what the see. if you have a video that runs for two minutes you would expect that to be the smallest amount of time spent on any page.

Ian Harper

BTW just by having the google code on you pages help them get listed
