Hi all,

Just wanted to find out which brush heads people are using for different typres of windows and how they rate them...

Myself i am using Ionics 12" double trim brush for UPVC framed windows up to 3 storeys (if face on) which i find are better than Vikan as the nylon bristles are that little bit stiffer and remove deposits easier imo. Currently have pencil jets fitted as i find they are more precise if you wanna rinse glass without touching frames.

But, if the window is awkward angle then i use Vikan 11" oval brush with fan jets as it is easier to get a good scrub action with the softer bristles and fan jets mean i don't have to zig zag pole around at awkward angel to rinse imo.

I find older woooden frame windows and particularly old sash are better suited to a softer bristle brush if the glass is thinner, so for that either vikan 12" rectangular brush or softer bristled double trim brush.

Anyways what does anyone else think ?

does anybody think sod that! and just use one brush for nearly all their work to save time?

I went to BWCA at swindon last week on their WFP training course, the guy there said the vikan brushes were no good for window cleaning and are only good for cars etc due to the bristles being too soft to get the crap off the windows.

Is this true??

There are two types of Vikan brushes.
Flagged (flocked) which is the type used for cars (and windows) and monofiliment which I think has been produced for window cleaning.
I have both types and find the mono a great everyday brush and it rinses well with brush on the glass.

no that is complete rubbish and I am surprised they said that as propably half the wfp in the uk use them when they start off :

the black and red vikan mono is great for getting crap off windows, the one problem is they are heavy.

Gardiner's have one if not the best brush on the market the duel trim flocked super lite.

I use this brush everyday, and vikans on shorter poles. Sounds like BWCA are getting a little confused bless em.

yep i never change my brush no matter what i am doing

i put my teeth in a jar and the wife cleans the toilet bowl
