I wrote to Southern Water back when I first started WFP and told them what I was doing.  Since then I've spoken to them several times, recording all conversations, and the upshot was that much as they would like to they can't yet force me to go onto a meter.

Obviously I shall have to at some stage, so I have three seperate meters on my system, one to measure how much pure each franchisee takes, one to measure how much pure I produce and one to measure how much waste.

Between them I can keep a very accurate picture of the whole usage.  When I have to go onto a meter I will be able to charge each franchisee for the exact amount of water they use.

I'm already keeping detailed records as a practice exercise, so when we are metered I will be in a position to change over immediately.

Water companies publish their charges online, so it's easy to work out.

On my figures each franchisee would be paying about £14 a week - that's at cost, no mark-up.

I got a 200 gallon per day from pure freedom, the tap water is about 340 ppm, comes out of the RO at 3ppm and zero after its been through the small DI canister, i change my resin when it goes to 01, i get about 1,800 litres of 00 pure from one DI shot, is this good? By the way i use the WCW resin

Try cleaning some windows with the water straight from the RO.  I bet you won't be able to tell the difference between that and the DI water.  0ppm isn't some magic formula that guarantees clean windows, it's just a convenient way of describing very pure water.  0ppm, 5ppm - even 8ppm the result will be the same, there isn't enough contamination in the water to show up as spots.  Some people use it as high as 15ppm with no problems.

If it works, why waste any money or time with DI?
