I was cleaning a one bedroom flat 3rd floor (of course) in the centre of town. I arranged with the local police for me to park in 60 min parking bay and they would give the nod to the traffic warden. Despite getting there at 7:30am I could not get in so parked on the street humped it all in the flat and parked the van about 15 mins away. Walked around the corner and of course the space was clear but thought bugger it. Machine down stairs 50' 2" hose with 25' 1.5" and away we go. Job took no time but there was no chance of parking so I was forced to walk all the gear back to the van. By now I was not a happy bunny, I was hot and sweaty and found out hoses are bloody heavy if you carry them far enough. Took the machine next and got an enquiry from a lovely old couple who wanted to Know what I pushing up the road. A carpet cleaning machine said I and produced a card. The gentleman asked if I actually went into houses and cleaned carpets, yes I said, good lord he replied whatever will they think of next... Made me titter and brightened my day.
