For anyone who's done this, how long does it generally take from signing up to being accredited?

I think it took me about 2-3 weeks from applying to recieving accreditation, CHAS took a lot longer for some unknown reason.

From memory abot 100 - 160 pounds apiece.

You have to send in documentation to them such as H&S policy, Copies of Risk and Mathod Statements and other such stuff. Copy of insurance liability etc.
You just fill in  a form and e-mail/post it back to them.
They then check out your doing everything ok and if not they explain what you need to, I passed with flying colours

I don't expect it to "get" me any work, however if a customer is looking at a few quotes, it might and I did say might, just swing it for me.

Some of the organisation I approach won't accept my quotations unless I have either CHAs or Safe Contractor, some want one, some want the other

To get this you just have to hand over your money!!! The paper work etc is just a farce... They just want your money!!! Don't do it, total waste of money!!!!!!!!!
