I am going on one of the NVQ courses tomorrow near Gatwick, anyone else goind.
Just wanted to ask if it was worth going on.

Oh right.  I posted my previous reply before I got this far down the thread.  See you there then Darran.  In case you're wondering, I'm the one with one head  :)
Hi Paul

Worth going on it's a nvq approved course and it's free, if you are really serious about health and safety you need to be looking at an IOSH or a NEBOSH

Iosh is 4 days and all supervisors or managers need this

Nebosh is 4 weeks and all MD's and the person responsible fir H&S need to have this

All the best tomorrow
Hi

Thanks for that. We've been on the course today and so far so good!

Iosh and Nebosh, are both something we are currently looking at. Can you recommend anyone near the Gatwick area, although I don't mind travelling if the course is right.

Cheers

Yes I found it pretty interesting and I learned some stuff about H & S that was new to me.  I thought some of the written stuff was a bit oversimplified but I imagine it was designed with the idea that some people have less literacy ability than others.  No problem as I do understand that some people struggle with this stuff and it's always possible that someone attending may not have English as their first language.
I liked the biscuits too  :)
I just wish that some of the people who were knocking Andrew Willis would have been there to eat their words.
