if every house...........
« on: November 09, 2009, 09:58:43 pm »
had an outside tap would it be possible to arrange a setup to use custies own water as in-tap - di - pump - pole.
therefore doing away with tank in van and filling it every night, also doing away with filling and humping barrels for those with trolleys and backpacks, any thoughts on this.........

They might have a tap, but turn it off in the winter. The tap might freeze in the winter, its not very professional relying on them, their facilities and whether or not they operate 365 days a year.

I think you'd be more open to them thinking how easy it is to set your own unit up and then dispense with your services. Just plug the unit on and away you go, simple isnt it, so simple I wonder how many custards would try it out for themselves.

yes it is possible, winter might prove difficult as some cut them of to stop them freezing,

I have seen a set up on http://www.windowcleaningwarehouse.co.uk/shop/trolley-systems/ultra-pure-ro-electric.html not read anything about it on here, but seems a bit expensive for a customer to buy and for window cleaners taking into account the previous mentioned possible problems

It's like Cozy says...ok if you have low tds but if the area has 100+ tds it will prove and expensive method of operation.

i had a local rival window cleaner do that. he just had a small car, two poles and a di vessel.

shame he isnt around anymore - he lasted about 2 months, i have all his old customers now!

dont think its a very good idea to do that to be honest.
