Hi guys

i am new to the bussiness and i am looking into buying a good carpet cleaning machine so that we do not get complaints. i really need some advice and tips as i need this bussiness to work. Thanks

A good machine is essential to have but more importantly you need training. If you have good training and apply what you learn you are on the way to getting no complaints.  Training NEVER stops though.

what do YOU mean by a steam cleaning machine?  There are different perceptions of what is a steam cleaning machine.

agitation - important - get a carpet brush, about £20. There are electro-mechanical machines doing a great job but cost £250 - £2000. Start with a brush - its good excercise anyway 

Heater - majority of the time you will get water hot enough from customers tap. Some cleaning fluids do not need heat as much as others do to do a good job.

Cleaning machine - course you need one. Hoew you gonna clean without one - problem is - which one.

Training - certain machine suppliers if you buy a machine of a certain value off them will give a free 1 or 2 day course.   The National Carpet Cleaners Association regularly have a 2 day course up in Leicester (www.ncca.co.uk). Thats my choice but others have there preference.

What cleaning machine would you recommend for end tenancy flat cleaning which are normally 2- 3 bedroom flats but mostly 2 bedroom.
i have been looking at the alltec aqua 40 , steempro 2000 , Powr-Flite PerfectHeat, Solutions Scorpion. I know these machine does not have the same power. Can you please guide me .

Visit some suppliers near to you and get a feel for the machines. Some machines are quite heavy to lift up stairs and if you are a female(only guessing by your name) then this could be a problem, even some men could struggle getting them up flights of stairs. Prochem would be a good starting point for you.

Whatever you do, do not do it quickly!  as it could be a costly mistake i spent nearly a year doing research on equipment, chemicals, training  and marketing and am just about keeping my head above water they are all important withour marketing you could be the best carpet cleaner in the world but noone will find you, but be a good carpet cleaner, be thorough, friendly, professional and you will get repeat business. i did the NCCA course as it seemed the logical thing to do and it will help you promote your business as you can hardly say use me i have been cleaning carpet since 1980, well you could say that but i dont advise it.

  after giving it lots of study and buying the odd brand new machine and taking it back after 4 days because of on going probs!
I will be picking up my new powerflight fro Amtech in the morning did a deal t the show and had to wait for ot to come over from the states,
Im getting the smaller powerflight all in black,look like something out of star wars : cant ee anything on the market that matches this.
I spoke to Ken    paul pearce  and both sid good machine that will do for me.willlet you all know how I am getting on cant wait!

Don't take them upstairs.
Get a decent machine that can handle a decent run
of hose.
Did ground, first, second and attic floors on one of
those 3/4 storey new builds you see nowadays.
Machine outside and 75 foot hose run did it with
some to spare.

Terry they are great machines just hope you have a spare wand incase you cant get on with the Wonder Wand.
