HOw do yo ucut your rubber for your channel.

Do you cut it the same size or do you have a couple of mm over the edges?

I want to know if I am doing it right.

Is dog-earing (or whatever it is called) worth it?

The reason why I am asking is that I am trying to speed up and if I can save a couple of mins a house it is worth it over the course of a day.

Dog earing is good.

You can also cut a small square out of the corner of the rubber (try about 1/4") This allows the new edge of the rubber to just reach the rubber seal on upvc windows and cuts down on detailing.
Do all the good you can, and make as little fuss about it as possible.

Dog earing is suppose to reduce detailing.
You bend the edges of the metal channel towards the rubber and this puts more pressure on the outside edges.
Give me 10mins and I will post a picture up.

Reaching parts traditional window cleaners can not reach.

Did my channel with just a slight bend and managed to get an hours work done before the heavens opened on me.  It does seem to cut down on the soap at the edge of the windows.

i found the down size is the edge of the channel that is bent and pointing into the rubber will put a "dimple" in the rubber this will in turn leave a line behind the blade when you squeegee and i belive it wears the rubber out faster
i have stopped the bent channel approach we use wagtail so im looking to see if you get the channel clips to insert
