Some of you charge per panel for conservatory roof cleaning, how much do you charge and do you have a minimum price?

Depends on a few things.

Do they want it done on a regular basis?

How green is it?

How easy to get to is it?

How big are the panels?

Is she a hottie?

done one today. Hard graft. £16 for four panels 6' x 2'. wants them cleaned every 8 weeks so should be easier next time.

£5 per panel and £10 per panel on a box gutter.

There's a box gutter if a roof panel slopes down towards a wall like the rear roof section in the picture below.

These are a real pig to clean, and the deeper they are, the harder they are to work on. They are even more difficult when the roof capping runs parallel to the box gutter.

The one below would be £125. That's made up of

15 regular panels @ £5 = £75
5 box gutter panels @ £10 = £50

Yes. Included in the price is knocking them off. Cleaning them by hand and replacing them using Wally's patented finial replacing tool.

Being a bit of a Wally, I managed to knock the finial off a conservatory I was cleaning the other day. Necessity being the mother of invention, I put this tool together to replace it with.

It worked perfectly!!!!

It's just a 20metre length of 32mm waste pipe and a length of rope through it.

Errrr. Actually, it isn't patented.

Same here mate,

£125 for a conny roof is unjustifiable in stoke,

Simple but clever!! Will make one of those tomorrow and try it on my own conservatory. Cheers Wally

how do the finals fit onto the roof then? Do they just rest on top of some sort of location pin?

Ooops! I meant a 2-metre length of pipe, not 20metre - keys next to each other on the keyboard.

I'm sure that there are areas of Stoke and Wrexham where some people have the money to pay decent prices.

Having said that, my own technique is to give a price of, say, £125 and then give a discount of £15 or so.

For example, on Monday I got a new customer for windows and conservatory. Windows came to £22 and conservatory £110 because of the box gutter. When I gave the price she looked a bit resigned to it. She really brightened up when I told her that it came to £132, and I'd do the both for £112 - oh, go on then £110. So, in effect, you'll get your windows done for free this time.

Oh, joy and delight. She nearly turned somersaults at the price!

Pricing tip. Go in higher than you want, and then come down a little. I've never had a refusal when I've done that.

And, yes, they'll let me go to Coventry next week, but I have to be home before the curfew at dusk!

Chopsie, different manufacturers use different methods. The one I knocked off and had to replace was a tongue-and-groove fitting.

i just charge my hourly rate and add a little bit more the chemicals. if i was to charge the prices you do for the above one then i think they would still be laughing now. if you can get it though good for you.

if they were to ask you to clean it again in a few months how much would you charge?
