I have some leaflets on order and am now thinking of ordering more.

basically I am looking at spending a little of my holiday money on this. I go on holiday in 3 months or so.

I need to get ideally a 0.5% success rate of monthly customers within a month of delivering them.

So what I am asking really is what sort of success did you have, and has anyone had worse than 0.5%.
Any tips on sort of areas (do they work as well in council as private estates) and just some general info and if I should be safe doing this.

Know its a bit random but have so many commitments with money over the next few months so have to juggle it a little.

I have had 0.01% return last year in one area that I dropped.
I have started to follow the leaflet drop up with a door knock and 2-3 days after the leaflet have been delivered.

Probably the same success as Matt ( 0.01%) and I am also door knocking now with much more success.

we leaflet drop rather than use local paper adverts etc
and find it ok
a follow door knock may be time consuming as you feel your stomping over ground trodden already but it does generate work
after knocking on average we get about 15-to 20 customers every 2 to 2500 leaflets and few recommendation from people once we start

can drop myself around 1000 a day
we pay around 50 quid delivered single sided single colour artwork designed etc etc

i find it works for me
not sure what percentage that works out to be

 i second that, NEVER leaflet in dull weather or blowy rainy days

Thats about 0.8-1.0%
Sometimes you can hit an area that will give you a return of 3-4% maybe on the odd occasion a little higher.

You will get a better response if you leaflet drop in Sunny weather, this is down the fact people look out their windows on a sunny day and notice if they are dirty or not, and seeing the flyer will trigger their memories about needing a window cleaner.

I have been doing a fair bit of canvassing again recently, just thought about pumping out the leaflets in my spare time. My Gf said she will deliver them too. But to be honest if the success rate is not that good without following up there wouldnt be a massive point in doing it as I am already canvassing.

I saw MB that from 10,000 just before Xmas you got 86 Regulars. Did this figure go up from that number over time and how long from the drop did this figure take may I ask?

I was looking at dropping 10,000, so was hoping for say 50. I would be alright with 40 to be honest. So 0.4%.
But 0.01% so that is 1 from 10,000?? Was this figure from a small drop?

Sorry to ask alot of your figures, Just would really help me out.

the 0.01 was from a few years back.
The figure went up slightly by another 12.
I am still getting phone calls from those leaflets.
also that figure took 4-6 weeks from the leaflets being dropped.

Thanks Matt. Suppose people that call from leaflets are generally going to be a bit more secure as custys, No messing about?

Think I will go with it. If I get half what you got monthly I would be happy if they average £10.

@ Tosh, From 5000 I would hope for 25, Being delivered with other leaflets must have caused over half of them not to be seen!!

my mate does gutter cleaning only
he got some bird with a lovely pair of jubblies to hand out leaflets in car parks tescos asda etc  wearing a pair of hot pants
they kept getting run by the trolly police but still managed to hand out loads

it got him a rake of work
probably the thought of her up a ladder with a industrial vak

I have got a load of leaflets to go out. But I am not putting them out till this weather turns better. I think I will get half the response rate at the moment. I think the end of feb will be better timing.

ive dropped 300 in the last day or so ...... managed to get about 15 customers ....... doing another 200 tomorrow followed by knocking most of saturday   and maybe sunday ..... im also in the fortunate position that there has been no sign of the other window cleaner since nov and ive got about 10 of his old customers (his own fault imo)     for those tomorrow that are still loyal to him i will simply leave a leaflet and mention to give me a call if he doesnt turn up over the next week or two ..........  ive also just found a very small village that hasnt had a window cleaner in about 2 years      about 15 miles from me but village has about 50 houses and ive just got 20 just by leaflets and neighbours letting theirs know about me..
as i only re started from scratch last week ive already got a total of 42 houses  ..
i find drop leaflets through the week then knock same houses at weekend  ...

I just dont want to drop lealfets then knock as I knock anyway. And Im not in the position at the moment to spend when I can do without.

But like I say I wil spend if I can get40/50 new customers. But then after thinking, I would only need to cover what I had spent to make it worth it really. So if I got 15 out of 10,000 leaflets it would realistically be a result.

15 out of that many leaflets seems miniscule ....... you could probably get that amount from a good days knocking

To be honest I know I could get alot more than that when knocking. Got £92 in just over a hour knocking last week.

But thinking its something I can do in the few days Im not working. Then still knock where ever I want to in the evening.

15 does seem tiny, and I hope it is, but only time will tell. Just dont want to spend some of my other money on something and then have to start jiggling things around. Too much going on over the next few months.

I put 5000 out (commercial) in my city centre then got them called up as a follow up.

Got 3 regular jobs which more than covered the cost.

Shows how tight the commercial sector is!!!

From previous posts Lee I have seen you have had some amazing success, with work you have collected through leafleting.

Have the figures in your 60000 leaflet drop been residential or commercial?
Do you have any tips?

And did you find people to start calling soon from the leaflet drop?
I would do a bigger drop as long as the original investment + a little more could be earn't back with in a month.

Also Lee your figures show your expecting a 0.6 return, Is this through experience or what you would like? Do you think it will come through like that or more hopefully, or maybe less? Just asking due to your obvious experience and the fact I have seen that you have put loads out over the time.

Last ?, Are they going to new area's and domestic??
