Okkkkkkkk. Apart from the usual RAC/AA, who seem to want the best part of £150 a year for cover...........can anyone recommend any other national companys I've seen a few on the comparison websites, but to be honest, i haven't heard of most of them,although they claim to have an average 40 minutes response time. Some are covering everything that the big boys are + more for £60 odd a year. Please post any info you got as it could help everyone on here. Thankyou CIU Crew x

If it's for a van.  I use the vehicle insurance company called CVD and cover is usually bundled in with the premium.  On my last renewal, I had to pay extra for it though as my van was more than five years old that time.  However they still arranged it for me and I got it a fair bit cheaper because they arranged it (about £60 I think).  This may be no use to you if you get insured elsewhere but may be worth considering on your next renewal.

I don't know about the cheapest around.  They were certainly a lot cheaper than my previous insurer though.  I believe that CVD aren't actually an insureance company but are a broker.  Therefore they will look around a number of companies for the best deal.  Part of your premium is actually their commission so, hopefully, that would mean that they aren't too reliant on commission from the insurers.  You can negotiate with CVD within limits too I found - much to my surprise.  By tweaking the deal (amount of excess etc.), and generally  being a pain, I did manage to get the quotation down a bit.  I may be wrong but sometimes the person on the phone is on a commission.  It may be that they accept a reduced commission to reduce the cost if they sense that they may lose a sale.

It would be car AND van leaps. Anyone heard of startrescue.co.uk? £64 and they're offering all this.......

Go Compar Go comapre GO compare.    <<<<<<<<<<<.. it stops there if you have wfp as they cannot compare as it is an add on they needd an underwritter to look at.



I use cvd on my vans as they come up the cheapest for what I whated to be covered for, I changed on of the vans last years to someone else as cvd came out more expensive, yet this year they are cheaper again, odd but oh well.





I get breakdown cover from my bank, will use it again tomorrow to truck a van away to get ot fixed again !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try ringing some insurance brokers think I paid £39.99 last year with Four Counties but if you dont have your motor policy with them its an extra £10 and it covers all the usual home start etc
