« on: January 20, 2010, 12:04:22 pm »

Business in the carpet and upholstery cleaing for me is very slow at the min,to slow actually, only for a couple of commercial contract we would be on our knees so we are going to start window cleaning and would like advise on a cheap practical set up, was advised to look at pure freedoms self build system, anyone any experience with it or can advise otherwise

Cheers

hard to help without all the info but maybe you could start off with just water barrels and a trolley? or backpack?
at least living in ireland your water will be soft and easy to make pure!

window cleaning warehouse backpack around £100 mark is good
purefreedom trolley or xline trolley are good.
cheap trolley option could be omnipole 35 litre £200 ish.

Dont mess about with backpacks and trolleys, get yourself a tank (400ltr min) pump box from cleantech, 100mtr microbore hose and reel, 300 ro system, and a pole. You should have change from £1000 and you have an excellent system!!!

whats the point in getting a tank fitted in the van when he hasnt got any customers. gonna need room for all the carpet cleaning kit.

thats why i suggested the trolley/backpack but i do agree in the long run a full fitted system would be best.

but he was asking for a cheap start up kit

I have exactly all of that, but i got a backpack first, what a ball ache that was, constantly fillling and humping barrels around, granted i probably used too much water, but even so it is still a pain,my 400 litre tank ran out at dinner yesterday had to come home to refill(myself included!),So using that much in a backback would of been a nightmare,I know/hope I will start to use less water eventually, but even so it would still be a pain.

And thats exactly what I suggested for him... a cheap start up kit!! and one that he won't need to replace in 6 months time when he's fed up with humping a backpack/trolley about!!!  ;)
