Steve C - i thought it strange transits would have 2 batteries as standard, so assumed a split charge system is already fitted, just wanted to confirm this was the case and which battery was the 2nd battery ( CHEERS SLASH! )

all i have to do is get test the battery with a multimeter to see if works!
If it works i have intelligent relay kit to sell ;)

Whilst googling found this which may help other transit owners

EX BT transits have 2 batteries , I have a system connected direct to battery and run 2 man system straight off it.

Not every transit has 2 batteries fitted, water board ones dont, or didnt

From what i have been told the battery that is nearest the bulk head is for the 12 Volt system. I run my pump of it and the lights in the load area(4) plus i have 3 12 volt jacks as the van is an Ex Bt. (on an 04 plate) Hope all goes well.  If you need any help my mate is the service manager at a ford garage in Buckingham i can give him a call if you want.
