Want to buy WFP, but live in Apartment!!
« on: January 05, 2010, 11:04:16 am »
Hi All, was out yesterday in Norwich trying to catch up. Still managed to have the ladder go from underneath me on last house. My fault had a feeling it was one house too many.
I really want to get WFP, but live in an apartment on 2nd floor with no space to produce water or store. Is there anyway of getting around this problem, as i don't want to move or rent premises??

Thanks All  ;D

There are more places about now that sell pure water. Try googling it in your area. Good luck.

you will have space to make water i bet

in a airing cupboard, in a wardrobe, in a kitchen cupboard

failing that

a rain water butt below your kitchen window in the garden, run your 6mm pipe down from your window

have a look and a think of a solution

i have advised a few on the best way over on the DIY forum

I have gone water fed pole and live in a flat in a loft conversion, just have my ro etc mounted on a frame i mae and a hose out the window to the van. Fills 350ltr in just over a couple of hours. Have a static in grans garen but to cold for that and waiting on cash to build nice little shed...

If you've got the budget, a hose out the window into a van system with built on filter. If its pumped it will only take around an hour. Or if you can make space, a pumped ro system in the flat, hose out the window to the van. Then you don't need to worry about frost damage.

Its only an hour. Or, cheaper, (you can get a slower filter) a tank by the door filled by a hose out the window (I live in a flat and do this). Transfer pump in the tank, takes about 5 mins to fill the van so you don't get in anyones way. There are a few ways. Or, a relatives house, and compensate them for the water used.

Easy.

Just need van mounted system, then hose out of window into rear port under bumper , get the float switch fitted then it stops filling when full.

Hope this helps
