How much to pay for canvassing?
« on: December 28, 2009, 06:46:14 pm »
I want to expand in new year and was wondering how much to pay for somebody to canvass for me. Is it best to pay commission, as an hourly rate would just mean they wouldnt really care about selling my service? If i pay commission how much should i pay?

Any help much appreciated!

PS Hope you all had a good xmas! Have a Great New Year!

i currently pay x 1.25 for monthly jobs and x1 for bimonthly or 6 weekly jobs , advertise in your local rag for someone who has knocked doors before , if you can find the right person your business will take off regards alan

National wage only applies to direct employees.  In this instance perhaps bee klean means he pays his window cleaners for any new jobs they pick up? So it's a sort of bonus, not their only payment.

I would only ever pay on results - perhaps a multiple of the monthly value of each new job.  A good canvasser is worth his/her weight in gold - review the situation after a few weeks and pay bonuses based on the annual turnover increase achieved.

Im going to be employing a canvasser in january and was planning to pay them the full price of work with houses starting at £8 upwards. Then i would clean them before paying to make sure i kept them. Now im thinking of just paying them £5 per house and then pay cash bonuses later on.

My plan is to employ 2 canvassers then we can expand at a more rapid rate. I can then sell any work im not keen on later next year and shape my round to be appealling when i paln to sell up

All the best for 2010
