wayno has hit the nail on the head.who are they to question you about how much they think u earn?they dont know what it takes to run a window cleaning business!accountants, tax, insurance,no holiday/sick pay/bad weather days.then theres ur underpriced bread and butter work that doesnt earn u as much.not forgetting having to write off money owed to us sometimes then theres the collecting/administration/equipment to upgrade etc.its not like working for someone else and getting a monthly wage paid in the bank and thats it!!! ::)THIS USUALLY SHUTS THEM UP!!! ;D ;D ;D

or loses you a well paid account

just be nice with them, that kind of explanation is ok, but in the right way , if you speak down to them you will make an enemy not a happy custy

If they told me i expensive i would ask them would they pay me more if i took much longer to do it. They obviously had agreed the price originally.

Don't bother arguing.  You open a can of worms if you do.  Ask them if they think you do a good job, and how long it would take them to achieve the same results.  Then ask if they think they are getting value for money.  If they still say no, drop them, they're trouble brewing.

Same here.
My customers are king or queen, but as long as i'm not losing several i don't care about how they view my work or price. I take each payment received as acceptance of it.
This job can be a nightmare if you are insecure or spend extra time on trying to cater for  each and every whim.

I think i will print leaflets out stating what you just said and if anyone gives me gripe about the price i will shove one in their hand .
I started out with nothing......I still have most of it.
