If your one of those guy's that takes the hose reel out of the van at each Job then insulating your pipe from the pump to the real can cause problems by pulling on connections and creating leaks in your van because the pipe insulation is rigid and not flexable enough to allow for any movement.
Now being an old fart I remembered years ago they used to do pipe lagging that was wrapped around pipes and fittings like taps etc,
I contacted my SIL who's a manager at a builders merchants and made some inquiries about it, The next day he contacted me and said they have 4 rolls left that have been there for years, so I bought them and wrapped them around all the pipes and the filter in the van or should I say Michelle did lol and guess what guy's? It works a treat and no frozen pipes or filters for us, you can even wrap some around your pump during the night and save your pump from freezing.
So you can make inquiries at a local builders merchants to yourself or have a look at this link and this stuff is very similar to what we have on our gear to stop freezing pipes.
