Why does it always happen when your busy
« on: December 15, 2009, 01:48:00 pm »
Came home from work last night with a headache that then developed into a migraine. Had a really busy day planned today with two commercial jobs booked in and a few biggish houses but know way i could work, only starting to feel human again now that pain is starting to wear of.

Why does this always happen when really busy, want to be upto date with all my work before christmas break.

Anyway just wanted to let of steam and have a moan. Incidentally does anyone else get migraines, i seem to get one at least once a month :'(, and have you found anything that works quickly on them? I take something called migraleve, does work but I'm out of action for at least 24 hours.

hi egg

i used to suffer from them to , at its worst it was 3 or 4 times a week

absolute bugger when i was carpet cleaning as well :'(

after 7 years they found my trigger :)

it was marmite, it was causing a build up of vit b ,resulting in adrenaline overload

i found it harder to give up marmite than smoking. ;D

but i have not had a migraine since  8)

Thats really interesting about  marmite I'm one of those who love it, can happily just eat it from the jar. Will cut it out of my diet from now on

it was dairy that caused my dads migranes ie milk, cheese etc
my son gets them from time to time and he uses the same as you migraleave

if he takes the first one quick enough he can normally stop it becoming really bad

the doc reckoned with him it was not eating regular meals when he was doing sport etc and i think he right to be honest

Tesco Marmite cheese, it's in the cheese counter section, usually next to deli.

I've never heard of marmite doing it.  Strange what can trigger different things off in people.  A fairly common trigger for headaches is chocolate too.
Sometimes migraine can be dealt with succesfully by vigorously massaging the two points above the bridge of the nose at the top part of the eye socket.  Hard to describe exactly but you should feel it a bit tender if you point your fingers there.  Don't go poking your eyes though   ;D  .  I believe they are points that are used in acupressure.

I know people who suffer bad with headache so I know they happen but when I tell you this I tell you the truth-

I'm 37 & have never had a headache in my life! Is this normal or very unusual do you think?

I guess you are single, my wife is forever giving me a headache and you should see her list of things to do for her, I clear it and it fills back up again, getting a headache just thinking about it :-[

Came home from work last night with a headache that then developed into a migraine.

This happened to my Grandmother.  It turned out to be a malignant brain tumour and she was dead within two weeks.

Don't confuse migraines with bad headaches, anyone who suffers with migraines will tell you they aint the same.  ;)

I had one the other week, took me 24hrs to get over the head pain, and three days for my ribs and shoulders to stop aching from all the heaving, six times in total, and as you know, after the first time, there is nothing else to come up ........ you just have to go through the motions. :'(
I can remember when waking up stiff in the morning was a good thing.
