speed-liner
« on: May 30, 2005, 09:40:01 pm »
Can anyone point me in the right direction for someone that will either speedline a van at reasonable cost or where i can purchase the speedliner to do the job myself as all the R&W suppliers quote in the region of £600,cheers steve.d.

If your van is not that new, why not use the Protecta Kote, paint on polyeurathane, or they do a liner material (I think that's a skin you put down and seal in but not sure) - I don't have their site details but should be easy to find and they include distributers. They also show in good detail, how to do the job. Hope this helps.

Hi,

I'm concerned to read your post about Protecta-kote not being robust enough for your needs.  We've sold a lot of it, and all the feedback so far has been positive.  Did you give it two coats, at right angles to one another ?  Did you know that unlike other such products, damage to the Protecta-kote lining is simple to repair, without any need to strip and re-coat ?  This might be the answer to your problem.

Yours, Andrew

£600.00 is too expensive the average cost  to Speedliner a van is between £325.00 - £450.00.

I still like the Protecta-kote idea, anything that can be repaired can be maintained cheaply.

If you are using Protectakote in high wear areas you should apply 3 coats rather than the normal 2 and because the Protectakote will take around 7 days to reach maximum strength you should be a little careful with things for the first couple of weeks after application.

Protectakote is also sold in the USA under the Herculiner and Durabak brand names where it is the biggest selling DIY kit and there are several reviews of it on US websites where it does very well against other products.
