conservatory roof clean pricing
« on: November 06, 2009, 10:34:31 pm »
I've searched the site and can't find any pricing posts for this. I've got two on Tuesday for a friend of my wife and the friend of an ex workmate. It's all good coz I've only just started. Can't be that complicated a job but just not sure what to charge. I haven't seen either property yet and I think these folks just trust that I'm not going to rip them off so just want me to crack on. Should I charge for a small/medium/large type price and should I then clean the windows as well? (they're bound to be splashed by the cleaning process). Might be a daft question but hey, I just want to charge a price that gets me repeat biz and a happy custy, without being too cheap. Thanks in advance for any help. Tom

Best to charge per panel, approx £5 per panel.

price it at £5 per panel plus £5 on top.
I use to just wipe the frames over with a damp scrim, then quickly wash the windows and sils.

hi go along and have a look at them, as they might be all green, take a few pics if you can and put them up on here,  there is no point charging say 50 a con and it is that manky that it takes a day just to get clean,, like wise on a spotless one

see if you can get easy acces as well, people where i live have a hbit of building them in the worst places possible

i do a house that has a con with 20 panes of glass, 5 down each side and 10 across, it is big, the owner was quoted 50 by some one to clean it and said no, and this included the roof

i would not give a price at the time, just take there no and phone them the day after   on a few jobs i have given the price and then regretted it when doing the job as turns out to be a pain, or you spend hours on one part of roof as it wont come clean when dry,  take all the info home and think about it

try using tfr as this is meant to be good a cleaning cons,  i think you cover the con in it then wash it off

i would do a complete clean for the price as well

Have a look first i did one a while back in my early window cleaning days and it wasn't that dirty but they wanted inside and out done there was bird poo baked on the roof and it was a boiling hot day and it had to be done for the next day, it was a nightmare i do trade and the woman and her daughter were there and didn't even get offered a drink. But what i do now when i have one to clean is get a long reach car cleaning brush scrub the roof with that then set a hose on low a rinse it off and just clean the side windows and doors the trade way and all customers have been happy with that.I quoted £45 for that job and i did myself big time but they say you learn from your mistakes i did there.

to clean a conservatory roof you will need to clean the rest of it to do a good job, the average size conservatory i do would be £80.  for small ones £60 if they insist on just the roof say £50

ill second that, i do alot of conservatory valets and those prices are fair. wfp all the way for this tho. trad would take too long and not look as good, infact no where near as good.

matts spot on aswell with what he says to.

one of my custies has a small porch conservatory at there front, 4 panels and a door.

i do the whole house which isn't that bad plus the small entrance conservatory for £20 a time. Takes me about 20-45mins depending on how dirty it is.

They love it, job for life  ;D ;D

As mentioned, say no price until you see the state of it and then charge accordingly.

We did a house last year and they asked if we could wash down the green house, piece of p my mate thought so said it would be £25 all in. We were on the green house for at least 2 hrs because we didn't see it first!!!!
