Advice needed please
« on: November 05, 2009, 08:10:31 am »
Hi Guys , I am booked in later on in the month to clean a  faux suede ( cream colured) 3 peice suite .  Never done one before, can anyone advise me on what chemicle/method is best to get a good result. ?

It is pretty  filthy  I am afraid.

I have  a ninja extraction machine (400 psi) with a built in stream mate.

Thanks for your help

Search the forum for faux suede, buffalo, microfibre or alcantara and you'll get tons of results.

Basically, if it is that type of fabric most of them you can really go to town on.

Avoid solvents

Avoid excessive heat

you'll need lots of terry towels

try and dry it off as much as possible before leaving.

Some go a bit crispy after cleaning

some (alcantara is an example) are nottoo resilient to agitation, you can cause a sort of pilling effect if you scrub too hard.  Should be easy to spot because it'll be doing it already in the seating positions.

Good luck ;)

What Jim means to say is that they are really easy to clean using basic methods but stay wet a long time.

He's just smarter than me.
