That's business I guess. If you can secure the work at a price you're happy with then more power to your elbow. But to slag off another business just because they have the cheek not to agree with your pricing policy makes you look a bit of a tit in my opinion.

I don't care what other window cleaners in Plymouth charge; we're not the cheapest nor are we the most expensive but we're happy enough with what we charge 'cause it brings us a decent standard of living with no financial worries. My opinion on the initial post is that he's just a bit miffed at losing the job in the first place :

I'm doing a lot or work outside St.Helens now (only started a few months ago) but getting some nice prices by picking the right area's and houses and careful planning, unlike Mr.Platinum running round his £3 - 4 jobs all day :

I think I was miffed because a sensibly priced job has been massively underpriced.
