Why and what are you texting them?

It's fine if you only have a few houses but if you're doing 100+ per day then it will become rather time consuming.

Are your customers interested in being texted to say you're on your way?

Keep things simple

i dont text any of my 350 custys apart from foning a few bigger accounts for access etc.i say im round every 4 to 5 wks or 8 to 9 wks then it gives u flexibility to account for bad weather, days off etc.no need for domestics IMO.THEN U NEVER LET A CUSTY DOWN!!back gate locked?split ladders and hop over or front only.i get electronic gate numbers off some custys so i can drive straight in!
price higher/work harder!

I do the same but I think if your phone allows it you can put customers into a list on your phone and send a text to everyone on the list so it's just one press.
I heard you can send your texts using window cleaner pro, but I think it costs more than the usual rate.

Dont understand, why text them unless you need them to open a gate or leave money somewhere,

that amounts to around 5 on my round, other than that i just turn up,

life can be complicated if you make it.

You will soon be able to text from WCP and I dont think the rates will be more expensive than other products on the market, It depends on what the take up is and to be honest with the amount of emails and comments we have had so far I think there could be quite a lot of users which in turn will make it cheaper for everyone.

Texting can be a way to keep in constant contact with your customers not only for the purposes of a job. You may want to text them about debts or just wish them happy birthday or merry xmas. I am involded with another company that send many texts a day and its one way that our customers have come to differeniate our services from our competitors. Sometimes its easier to text a customer about being late (so that you dont have to answer them as you would in a a telephone call) and it just keep that all important rapport.

If anyone has any other ideas that they would like to use texting for then I would love to hear them. Send me your ideas on ian@windowcleanerpro.com and I will be more than happy to take them on board.

Thanks

Ian

How's about those not based in the U.K? will this facility be available or could a email facility be an alternative?

Cheers

thanks everyone
yes i text to let them know we are coming to clean, mainly for the opening of gates etc sometimes to remind them that the have not paid on line etc
i have found that a lot of customers actually like the idea that we text them to keep them informed of the cleaning date and also it can be used to inform them that due to bad weather we will call on such date etc
so in the main i think its a good selling point when canvassing and it looks that more professional,no disrespect to fellow cleaners.
but to make it work well it needs to be an efficient system hence the post
cheers bob
