Soot advice please
« on: May 25, 2005, 05:31:45 pm »
Hi all,
A lady just called me about a problem she has had with soot on her beige carpet. It is an insurance job. There are 14 stairs, and a hallway about 18x3. I believe that the soot is distributed over the area. I havnt been to see it as it is quite a long round trip.
I am quite new to the business, and have read the previous messages about soot, but I was wondering what sort of cost any of you would put on such a job?
Do you charge more as it is insurance job?
Any advise?
TIA
Ben Daniels

If you take the job on get the client to sign a letter authorising the Insurance Co to pay you direct, then before commencing with the job phone the Insurance Co to let them know you are doing the job and get a job No from them or you may not get paid.

Best thing to do is charge customer and let them get the money from Ins Co after all you are doing the job for her.

Remember she may have an excess to pay will the job be more than the excess??

Why should you charge more for an Insurance job??.
I get better looking each day!!

Thanks for the info John.  :)

No reason, just wondered if this was done as they might not be too concerned at the cost.
Tnx

Believe me Benny when it come to what you should be charging, Insurance Co's know what to charge better than we who do the job do.
