Google Imitators
« on: September 24, 2009, 04:16:40 pm »
Hi Guys

I have had a spate of the Google imitation companies in the last few days.

They telephone claiming to be from Google but are really nothing to do with them.

They will promise high rankings but all you will get is high bills.

Leave well alone.

Google will not telephone you.

Cheers

Doug

he then read out who was top of add words  - me
i then told him i was also top of listings & then i told him where to go  ;D

and these company's who have searched for you have actually put up the cost of your adwords campaigns just by searching for you  :o

You pay for them to call you because they clicked on your add (perhaps .50p or £1.50)......then you also get charged for the call diversion!!

These people, to put it mildly are parasites.

I switch off all calls who say....can I speak to the company owner.........

"on behalf of google"
"on behalf of BT"
"on behalf of orange"

no they don't or they would no your name, the tarriff your on, the amount your phone bill is, and that you are top or use add words.

they must think we're stupid,

had a big row with a guy that said he was from orange, didn't know my name or what plan i was on, what a tit.

I'm sure it will pick up soon Jon. Sounds like you have everything in place web wise. I guess the problem is it's a passive form of marketing.

Even with adwords someone has to be looking for it whereas with leaflets a lot of people will suddenly consider an offer presented to them but it wasn't even on the RADAR before they saw it.
