Anyone got a easy way of removing lime scale from shower doors

Use Harpic Loo Cleaner (the blue stuff)

Sqirt on, scourer over the shower screen door and rinse straight off, works an absolute treat and takes mere minutes.

No need to leave on or soak etc. I have used alsorts in the past Viakal, Lime lite, vinegar, pro limescale remover, nothing works as good as Harpic Loo Cleaner.

Used it on 48 different student properties in August, works every time.

Wear Gloves!!!!

yeah harpic is pretty good.

an eco friendly option is to try either of the below links, both i find very good, but as mentioned not as good as harpic.

Tried Ecover surface cleaner today (it was left in an EOT) not impressed at all, it was like using cold water.

1st time I have tried ecover.

Martin why did you chance your arm on Ecover if Harpic is so good ?  After reading the posts on here, i've used Tesco Limescale remover ever since. That works brilliantly, i have never usd Harpic so i can't tell you how it compares, i can only say it works as well as you have described Harpic.

Sorry didn't explain myself, harpic for limescale.

Greenclean mentioned ecover so i mentioned I used their surface cleaner (on some kitchen units) and it was like using cold tap water. It was only because I happen to come across it in an EOT, would never buy it or use it again.

one thing i must warn the op about though is if you end up using harpic, only use it on glass! it will damage stainless steal which is so common in bathrooms if left for a little longer then a few seconds. i found out the hard way when removing the limescale on a stainless steal sink; ended up with bad marks all over it

have never used ecover multipurpose spray but i can't see how it would be bad for general cleaning, or even a bit of heavy cleaning when paired with a microfibre cloth

Ecover SquirtEco is great for polishing but absolutely rubbish for cleaning unfortunately.  We used to use it to polish off until we changed our range of products.  When I first started I tried to clean a kitchen and bathroom with it and as Martin says, may as well have used cold water.

And re harpic on stainless steel, you need to be careful with all limescale removing products as they will damage a lot of surfaces including marble.

You can use harpic and limescale sink and taps but it must come off straight away.

Squirt, scourer, rinse.

IF? you do tarnish a stainless steel appliance then it can be salvaged with Bar Keepers Friend (around £3) this is in a powder. Sprinkle, scourer and rinse, may need 2 applications, I have salvaged many sinks with this even one that had hydrochloric acid smeared on it.

2 things, I use Clover Chemicals 'Breaker' its brilliant on limescale and 'other'stuff you find in showers and similar things, just squirt, rub down to break things up and rinse it off.

The other thing is, as you have done your trauma course how do you get 'old' blood off walls and floors.  A friend of mine is an undertaker and he has asked me if I can clean blood and body fluids off the floor and walls in his treatment room. There isnt much, evidently just splashes etc, the floor is Altro's Safety floor and if I remember correctly a thermo plastic type sheeting to the walls. He has used the usual flash etc etc but to no avail.

Any ideas welcome.

I was given an amazing piece of advice and I have used it ever since on toilets, kitchens, tiles, extractors, skirtings and oven and blood.

It's Bio-logical washing liquid (persil).

Because it contains enzymes it's sole purpose is to break down proteins and fatty deposits.

Use neat or put a cap full into a 500ml trigger spray bottle, apply, leave for 5 mins and then wash off with COLD water (protein congeals and hardens when heat is applied) some agitation may need to be applied.

If it has soaked into a porus surface then the area is 'chemically stained' you can clean it but the stain will remain, the only way then is to repaint the area or seal it in or replace the item.

any phosphoric cleaner will be fine, cheaper to buy 5ltrs from a cleaning supplies.
