Anyone have a CFR Eco 500? I keep getting water sucked through the vacs, just wondering if you have the same problem.

Adam
What does your supplier suggest?
or even Amtech, if they were not your original supplier?
All I can suggest you check you not overfilling. Because it is a Constant Flow Recycle machine your dirty water coming back into the tank at a force and may be causing turbulation.

Yes I've contacted Amtech, they said turn the air inlet pipe so its facing downwards slightly ( it was facing upwards) but this didnt solve it. Yeah you can see the turbulence as the water passes through and around the basket filter.
Do you know if it could be to do with the angle of the white pipe??

When i owned one i only just covered the filter by a cm.
I would say up to basket filter is too high,

I was told to fill it to just below the cut-off sensor. This submerges the basket filter by maybe an inch. I have tryed with less water and there is clearly less turbulence but still droplets jumping around inside, however this really defeats part of the purpose of a CFR machine, and you end up having to refill the machine at shorter intervals.

Adam, which wand are you using, because if your having to refil, you are not recycling, your losing water.
If i was you i would just cover the main filter, i never had to refil ( except black top in pubs), maybe you need to look at your wanding techniques, or something not right with your machine.

I use a wonder wand. Yea its recycling but still not all the water gets recovered back into the machine so you do lose water gradually. What do you mean by covering the main filter?

Hi Adam, sorry just realised you have the eco model, i read it as pro. I had the pro 500 and it had a cylindrical filter in the middle of the tank, about 8-10" in height, i always just covered the filter by 1/2"- 1".
The Eco may be different.
when i used mine for a couple of hours it would lose maybe 1-2 pints and still worked ok.

When I was using recycling Cfrs I always found that with ribbed carpet my water level dropped noticably sometimes up to as much as 5 us gallons from 25 gal max fill. (On a big job) This was because of the construction / profile of ribbed carpet causing wand to no fully contact so losing suction and leaving solution in the troughs of the rib...
Unless your vacs and wanding technique are perfect then you are always going to leave some recovered solution in the carpet no matter what type.
if that makes sense.

hi adam,
i had the same problem and it was because i was using the bag filter without
the metal cage in place. This would cause the bag to move about and the vacs would suck water from the side of the bag and across the top of the tank.
the cage reduces turbulance and avoids the problem. If you are using the cage as istructed check the fit of a half filled bag without the mesh filter in place to check the fit.hope this helps.

Thanks Eric, I do have the cage in place but its not a snug fit inside the tank, it does move around abit and nearly slips through the hole, whats yours like?
What I've done is angle the inlet pipe upwards abit plus, bent the plastic deflector upwards slightly to help block more of the splashes. Ill see what happens.
