Pole mantainence
« on: September 09, 2009, 06:45:30 am »
I've had my fibre glass pole (27ft) now for 6 months.

Its started to spin when working, so I've been tightening the clamps up.

Problem is now that there either too loose and still spin or too tight and I have to fight with the pole just to get a section out.

Would tape around the bottom inch or two of each section give the clamps a grip where they don't spin or where I don't feel like I'm fighting with it ?
Only those who risk going too far will truly know how far they can actually go

I have just this minute , cut out a piece of plastic from a coke bottle, and glued it to the inside of the clamp, as recommended by someone on here....

the glue is drying so i will leave the pole extended for now....

will let you know if it works tomorrow.

also a one strip of insulation tape at the highest and lowest point of a pole section will get you by for a while.

you need new clamp bands and clamp levers that will sort the problem out
