a call at last
« on: September 02, 2009, 05:30:55 pm »
well i returned from work checked the 1571 hey presto!!

left her name and number i rang her back, turns out it from a shop i put a flyer thru the door 4 weeks ago, ok maybe it only one feedback from about 80 but it shows the leaflet can hang around in someones property for a while.
so she got tenants moving in to a cottage where i am to clean the windows...
but one boo boo she asked me to leave a card there but like a doughnut i not got any
anyway maybe i will get more feedback, i know the statistics of flyers but it is worth a try

Good for you ajs...just keep doing the same and in no time at all you'll be sat here posting like an old boy telling tales of how it was building a round 'in your day'....just like me ;)

Good luck and well done.

Cheers

Well done AJS.

I got my first call this morning from some canvassing I did yesterday. Like a bottle job though I only posted abput 40 cards and didnt knock on any doors though. Still 1 is a start, going canvassing again next week and will force myself to start knocking

I'm still fairly new to this game and found door knocking a bit daunting at first.I used to only knock on doors on houses with windows that actually looked dirty and just leafletted the rest. Not a bad strategy as you can tell most of the time what houses already have a cleaner as they have that shine you get with a squeegee. You have to have a fairly thick skin as the majority of people will say no but just stick with it.I've found that most people are polite and friendly even when saying no,

Just remember this 'feeling'..it's just so uplifting to get your first customers and only a little over 3 years later I am getting to the point where I am starting to prune/trim and plant cuttings...so to speak...

But the excitment has all but gone at the moment...enjoy your building years...they are the best ;D ;D

Cheers
Dave.

hi ryan you are very new just like me...remember this....its so easy....."knock knock, i wondered if you had a window cleaner"
"no and i dont want one"
ok thank you for your time

be polite dont be down about, these can be your potential custys. they may change their mind when they see you doing the neighbours.

you got tobe in it to win it. i bet you have the confidence to buy a lottery ticket, and ask for one in the shop .
this is only advice ok chaps...what you can you lose.

i have also found that when you are in the shop break the ice.....mention you didnt win the previous week, so another week of window cleaning, make sure people are in th q behind you.
where ever you are mention window cleaning in conversation. the more people that know the better
