suprising yourself
« on: August 18, 2009, 10:40:41 am »
Today I did a karoke bar/resturant.  The carpets were black, really dirty,  I did a compo texatherm and EMV201 extraction clean.  The end result was amazing except for some burn marks it looked new and the great thing is the owners other places are now to be quoted and booked in.  I am amazed at the clean today  life is much easier having the all in one emv machine one hand.

Batteries did'nt work :(

Same problem with me today - except its my van battery.
Due at LTT, Harrogate at 9am for a leather restoration day with Jim Neal and 2 others.
Jumped in the van at 6:45 - dead as a dodo.  Been ok for the last 18 months since I had the van, first time starter.

Got the breakdown assistance out, he left 8:30. He got it started, checked the alternator (14.2v) but after 10 minutes I had to stop the van to lock the front door - then wouldnt start again. I was going out to get another battery.
Now waiting for auto electrician to arrive early afternoon with a battery. He will check also to see if any other underlying problem.

Gutted I have missed a day at LTT Harrogate.

That's unlucky Joe, if it had been a work day you could have resheduled but that's a bit of a one off.

Hope it's not your alternator Joe . Had the same sort of problem with my van, battery wasn't holding it's charge . £400 for a new alternator ouch !

Hi Dave123
No not the alternator.
The break down man (£59 per year inc home start) tested that when he jumped across - putting out 14.2v.
Good job I didnt just jump in a go to Harrogate - might of got there but would not have started again so I would be in the same situation but miles away. I know the breakdown service would have got me home but I would rather be under my own power.
