coated glass and seagull poo!
« on: August 13, 2009, 09:31:20 pm »
had a job the other day. new conservatory roof, special non glare, anti dirt never need cleaning coating super duper glass type. segulls craped all over it. then the sun baked it for about 4weeks. got most of it off by pre soaking (wfp) then gentle brush. i was worried about using any chemicals in case they stained the coating. your thoughts alternative cleaning methods on this would be appreciated.

If it was something like pilkinton active self cleaning glass, you should check the manufactures recommended cleaning solutions, if you use anything else you will invalidate the warranty that may include wfp!

had the same problem a couple of weeks back, customer was understanding enough but next time I'm there wondering if its worth filling my back pack with hot tap water and scrubbing at whats left before rinsing with pure ?  :-\

ps. not sure if its pilkingtons, the custy is'nt sure either (not the original owners)

Don't reallt see the value of the warranty as in my experience on conservatory roofs self cleaning glass makes absolutely no difference and is a big waste of money.
