Should I charge more for a builders clean??
« on: July 25, 2009, 06:58:28 pm »
I have cleaned for a guy 3 times in the past 6 months just when I could fit him in realy, charging £8ph the thing is he has just had loads of building work done which has obviouly  left his house very dirty. I went the other day and there wasn't a right lot I could do as the builders were still there. Do I charge more after the builders have left because obviously it's going to be very dirty.
Thankyou

Set a price for the job. Find out what he wants and tell him how much YOU want for doing it. Pricing by the hour is tricky at best, even for regular doemstic work. You dont want to be charging an hourly rate for jobs like this.

And remember. its YOU who agrees the price, the client says yes or no. If they accept the price and you underquoted, then you've no one to blame but yourself. If you keep that in mind you'll not feel half as resentful as you might otherwise do.

builders cleans can be a nightmare with lots of render and cement on glass and the clean can take a lot longer than you planned for so bare this mind when quoting.

Ive done a builders clean where I had to price a cherry picker in as WFP wont shift plaster and cement off upper floors windows
