still struggling getting to much fumes on my chest.  can smell them even when machine is a good way from me.  i end up with a chesty cough. especially wen swithcing machine on and off when its left on side door. the smell from the machine when its hot makes me feel sick too.  anyonne else suffer the same probs?  whats the answer.  i could do with a carbon monoxide test i think?

doesnt anyone get effected by the fumes when you are breathing them in when switching machine on and off?  you must be able to smell them? if so you need to sort something out as the fumes are cancerous.

I guess there are two options worth considering,

You could try and fit a telescopic metal hose/flue to the exhaust of the washer (so its well above head height), or wear a good quality mask with interchangable filters!

What engine is on your machine? Are you burning oil?

If there are fumes, then something isn't running right,...

honda 13 hp engine, it produces fumes, all machines do!!

I've a honda 13hp petrol GX390 and although it produces fumes they're never enough to bother me or even notice. The one time I did notice the fumes it was in need of a service & came back running smooth and fume free.

If there's a piston ring gone & you're burning oil it could explain fumes?

Gas is just standard bottles from the petrol station,.. looks like it costs about €200 odd for the duel fuel converter kit.

You sure seem to be struggling with this one first what van have you got.
I've got an ldv high load and boarded out behind my seat to head height the only gap is small hole for the side sliding door runner. With storage compartment above my head so basically the cab is sealed from the van. It also has a rotating vent in the roof.

I've run the machine recently for nine hours only stopping to refuel back doors shut together enough for hoses about 6in centre gap had very little fumes in cab.

Gas bottles are available in the camping shops some higher shops the old-fashioned DIY stores roofing companies.

Alternately you can use a refillable bottle which costs more but you can refill  at the local petrol station will cost you less to refill  then exchanged bottles

cut it be the air filter was blocked? the guy who serviced it put a new one in for me as it was old.?

   starting to get headaches of the fumes now.  i hold my brathe when turning the machine on and off as the fumes are strong, i may have an allergy to them as they make me cough and wheezy, they are bad,  even my dad said they are terrible.
