pure water in car!!

just a thought....would pure water in your windscreen wash be any more effective?!?

i've tried it, dont make any difference really, i still put it in though.
the wipers dont cover the whole screen so muck still runs down and it doesn't stay cleaner for longer  ::)

Right to throw a spanner into this pure water rots metal theory. If this is true why do many preserved railways eg SVR use an RO system for the water for the steam engines? They do it to reduce corrostion in the boliers (amongst other things). Considering that engines cost a minimum of £200,000 to put into working order the railways have done their homework and come to a different conclusion to what the majority think on here.

my brother killed his petrol pressure washer in a week using 0 tds water
it went all furry inside and looked like it had had 50 years service
