Hi Guys,
I am going to quote for office carpets tomorrow and was after some advice on pricing please.
It's going to be carpet tiles with moderate soiling usual stains, dirt, tea ,coffee etc.
Ive only been doing domestic and have now had two quotes for commercial in a week so all good if i know i am quoting ok. Would i be right to think i should be going in between £1- £2 per square metre
The job will be local to me so not long to travel only about 15 minutes

I've had to go as low as £1.20 on some but got £2.00 sq/m on others.
I've also lost out on one particular job where I found out they'd gone below £1
Commercial normally get 3 quotes in so if you're going high you'll need to back that up with some good sales pitching.

Rich are you bonneting it or hwe that makes a hell of a difference in time.As Neil says if you are charging more you need to give them a reason why and what benefits they get.I use host drycleaning and microsplit the stains beforehand so i push the dry and organic angle.Sometimes works sometimes doesnt.Regards Alan(swindon)

how much of that is covered by desks/chairs etc
access to water - is it near to where you working
same as above for dirty water disposal

Will be using porty extraction. I don't use bonnet machines are they lots faster then???

I deduct 30% of overall surface area of each floor.
As for using portable, depending on area to be cleaned you might need someone to assist with running back and forth emptying and filling up.
And yes Bonnets are vastly quicker.

Gotta agree with bonnets being quicker and also safer.Modern offices can have all sorts of electrical equipment and none like water.Gotta be worth investing in a rotor and some bonnets.V.cheap at only a few hundred quid.Regards Alan(swindon)

Don't deduct 30% just keep it as an extra tool for keeping prices down.
I've always measured the full building immaterial of desks etc and never been questioned.
You end up under the desks anyway.

Great bit of kit Steve, taken me up to an higher level.
Whoever says you don't need heat to get a better clean
should just try cleaning with the Steammate.
Provided you do a good pre spray and get plenty down,
5 to 10 mins dwell time, agitate and 2 more mins dwell
you can extract without cleaning solution most times.
