Resin on the glass !
« on: June 20, 2009, 06:51:53 pm »

Hi,

New to cleanitup but have been watching the topics for a while now and require a little help if poss?

I have been cleaning windows WFP for 4 years now and have never had any problems with any part of my WFP system, until a few weeks ago. ...I noticed that resin was starting to appear on the glass as I was cleaning windows.

I thought it was the rinser head/lower rinser, so I ordered both and still got the same problems....in the end I ordered a new 7ltr di vessell but I am still finding resin appearing. In some cases its alot.

I have opened the vessell to find that its not as full as when I first filled it up......any ideas?

My system is a 1000ltr tank to pump then from pump to DI vessell then to hose 100 meter microbore

Cheers

W :)

Have you got your DI in the right direction?

On my DI there is a rubber seal up inside the head to seal the riser tube, is this ok?

Have you changed resin brand? I was told that some resin have smaller beads than others & thus can get through the DI strainers.

The vessell has an out & in printed on the head so I have followed these correclty.

Would a strainer pick up all the beads as this seems like a good idea and might solve my problem?

As for resin I have used the same brand for some years now...it's really wierd and is bugging me.

I have managed to get around the issue for the past week or so by using a J cloth as a filter, but this is no long term fix

thanks for your thoughts and ideas

put the di before the pump with a strainer if you have to have di in your van at all, if you have static just make pure and pump the 000 to van no need for di in van no more problem.

Only other thing I can think of is duff resin, a bad bag. Did you open a new bag around this time?

Chances are that the new vessel fixed your problem, but a build-up of resin in your hoses is taking a while to clear. try hooking up your hose to the garden tap and flushing at full flow for half an hour,.. see if you still have resing on the glass the next day?

I have a strainer on the inlet and outlet on the pump, I found that some resin beads do get though one strainer and they where blocking the fan jets.

When I had this problem it was when my filter in the resin container wasnt in properly-you have to make sure it's pushed in to the top enough(?).

My problem was due the broken vessel.  The new vessel did fix the problem, but like Nathanael Jones posted I still had beads in the hose line.

I flushed them out and it cleared....but to be double sure i have now fitted an in line filter after DI to make sure it stays that way.

thanks for all your help. ;D ;D
