Its always hard when designing your first site; look at the grammer and the way the text is laid out.... the website is a potential customers first impression of your business!

Good luck

Hi Nat,

I think its always difficult giving advice on these as it seems as though we are just criticizing. Which I hope is not the intention.

However putting that aside you site look very aimed at domestic and in no way at commercial sector.

The image to me in my opinion is that you are a very small company.
(Its all about appearance)

You only have 2 pages. Most companies of larger size have at least 5 or 6.

Below are just examples!
Home Page
About Us
Services
The Team
Portfolio
Contact Us

If you are aiming to the commercial sector maybe some pictures of machines like buffers, Steam cleaners, etc.

Have a look at some website in the cleaning sector. You will see that they are showing themselves at work either cleaning or window cleaning or before and after pictures.

But a word of warning. Do not over do it with pictures as Google will and can mark you down in rank if over done.

It maybe also a good idea to look at the wording on other websites(No I am not saying copy it) Just to give yourselves an idea. Look at the lay out. Look at the way it is worded as the grammer.

If you are not the greatest speller and grammerian then get someone who is to check it for you. First impressions count.

Hope this helps

Dave

Hi Dave, thanks for your comments, yes we are only a small company, actually just me on my own unless my partner helps me on 1-offs etc, so cannot put any info on re: team. I understand where your coming from with adding pic's etc,  Will browse other site's again to look at wording & grammar.

Thanks again

For the price you paid for it - its a start. I did read a few grammer mistakes 'utmost importance'.
We didn't have a website until we'd been going for 18months. You can spend £100's on a website.
Your welcome to look at mine  www.kc-services.com

Nat

Why dont you name it under the searches as sale cleaning services or manchester as when the clients search from the area you will come up :)

I think it is fine as it is, I think that customers will call because it gives them enough reason to call.

Your title needs to read 'what i do and where i do it' don't worry so much about your company name. its what people are going to search for that counts. get it on google asap, you can add pages as you think of them. Start building links.

hi nat, its a start, and its better than having no website at all, dont be put off by the folks that slate it ( i may not like it myself privately, but i would never say it to your face)   ::)

anyways, you will go on to bigger and better things if you shell out for a site built by another nat funnily enough, nat jones in cork, he built mine www.gacontracts.co.uk and it wasnt much more than 100 quid, and funnily enough, since i got him to do the site the phone NEVER stops ringing with new enquiries....i know that 100 quid sounds a lot to some ( to others its loose change) but its money well spent nat, put a few quid away each week till you have enough.

untill then, the site you have is adequate enough to get your name out there in the web, i aint going to ask you if you know about SEO (search engine optomisation) a fancy expression to mean that you will be recognised by your metatags and keyword analysis etc (way over my head last year).

but well done for getting your site online ;)

yep, Nat owns A.C.S cleaning company and owns the forum which is linked to that site, Nat has made a few sites for window cleaners in the last couple of months, his charges are very reasonable as i mentioned before and i am extremely happy with the one he made for me, so why not give him a shout and see what he can do for you?
