If quoting for cleaning an office and upstairs is office with carpet but downstairs is a production area with a hard floor that needs sweeping and mopping with buffing once a month, do you just price the two areas the same??

We charge extra for buffing.

The machine itself is not cheap even if you purchase a cheap one.

Then there are the pads

The the chemical and it depends on the type of floor to be buffed. Also depends on how dirty it is. Also you will find that the buffing will take longer generally.

Yes you can put it all down as one price but the buffing would make the contract more expensive.

Hope this helps.

hi there

for floor work, you should measure the floor areas for the differing coverings ie.

2000 sq ft carpet,
2000sg ft laminate
2000 sq ft hard concrete floor

then you can apply your costs for vacuuming, sweeping and mopping as required to the different areas,

for instance a laminate area may need sweeping daily, and then twice a week is mopped, so you would then apply the two different cost operations to that  floor area,

as long as you have it all written down, and filed away then you can refer back to it in the future, also very useful, when the client has any refurbishmnet or extension work done, so that you can adjsut your pricing and schedules accordingly.
