.......I don't really know where to begin.........my mind and emotions are whirling....there is just so much to take in.
I guess I'm at the stage where you guys were a couple of weeks ago but I'm assuming some of the posts about it have been removed, so I'm sorry if I end up repeating matters.
It was kind of you all to not get in touch with me whilst I was away on holiday. (I was in Crete so I wouldn't have been able to get to the funeral.) Clinton and Pete Sweeney have very kindly explained the situation to me when I got home on Saturday afternoon.
I've heard that quite a few of you were able to make the funeral and that practical steps have been taken to try and help John's family where possible.
I first met John at CCDO in 2008. We "clicked" immediately and in the following year spoke to each other several times about various matters. John was always keen to learn more and make every job better than the last. He'd have been a great carpet cleaner. (I'd like to think that some of the more "business" side of things I shared with him helped.)
But it was his generosity that struck me most. We know John didn't always have the fullest of diaries but he was kind enough to let me come out with him and help on some jobs so that I could get a better understanding of how a TM worked. That was a great day.
Then we met again at CCDO in 2009. (I would have also been at Boot Camp but for the conflict with my holidays.)
I didn't know a lot about John, but what I did know I liked very much. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
I shall miss him.
