Although I mentioned this on another thread I thought it merrited a thread of it's own.
Got myself a new tool last week. It's a closed spray type. I have always used an open spray type. Or one with a gaurd to prevent overspray. In my ignorance I have carried on using these types since the begining 4 years ago. I always thought one day I may go for a Drimaster or maybe a CFR when I eventually upgrade.
Last friday I used the new tool on a badly trashed suite. Thick with grease and heavy soil all over the facing areas. The job took about 2.5 hours and the first sofa was dry in most areas before I left the house. And no I didn't use the Turbo dryer. Looking back I am ashamed that I have left it so long before being able to give this type of great service to my customers.
I can't compare this tool with the HM or CFR ones as I have never used them but I really didn't think those types of drying times were possible without paying 4-500 pounds.
I have never really enjoyed cleaning upholstery but I think I may start warming to it.

I use the tool with a truckmount and noticed that when the tool is away from the surface being cleaned the spray does not make it out the end of the tool. Instead it is pulled back up through the waste pipe by the flow of air. Once the air flow is restricted by the surface of the item being cleaned the force of the spray is powerfull enough to overcome the reduced airflow and reach the surface. I have yet to try it with the porty but I would think results will be very similar. I reckon I will have to work at a lower pressure as the porty will produce less flow of air when restricted, making it easier for the spray to overcome this flow.
One very happy cleaner.
