I meant filter, have changed it.

So has anyone with a portible machine used one and what are the benefits?

These filters have been around for years now.  They will stop larger debris from entering your waste tank however you will get the silt in there.  They are also a good way of letting your customer seeing exactly what your taking out of there carpet and this does surprise most customers.  They come with either a sock type insert of a stainless steel mesh.  The Stainless mesh filter is the one to go for.

Richie cant find the stainless steel filter, the one on ebay has the cloth filter.

Are the steel ones dearer?
