Jet sizes
« on: May 11, 2009, 09:06:42 pm »
I know this has been covered before but it still confuses me,which is quite easy to do these days  :)
I have  a Sabrina small machine and the single jet wand is currently fitted with an 02 110 jet,I would like to experiment and try to lay down a little more solution as it seems to spray too finely.
I know this is a toy machine but it does have it's uses and I would like to improve performance a little.
What would you suggest in the way of changing the jet to improve flow?
Regards,John

as you are not altering the position of the jet you need to keep the angle of spray @ 110(degrees) so you can only alter the 02 to a 03 or 04

but unless your pump has the capacity to back up the increased flow its won't work

I understand that it is tempting to improve the flow from the wand but what you need to remember is;  how wet will you be leaving the carpet?  Will the machine be capable of extracting the extra solution been applied?  The last thing you want to do is leave more moisture in the carpet.

Whilst pressure is important, and the desire for more can only be successfully achieved with adequate vacs, taking a little more time on preparation will give very good results. pre vac well and use suitable chemicals with good agitation if required until a higher spec machine is available to you. 20 years ago we were using 50/80 psi pumps and single vac machines and chemicals were much more limited in choice and we did still did a good job.

Thanks for replies,I will try an 03 and see what happens.
Simon, this is not my main machine,I use a Prochem Steempro, and have done so for many years :)
We purchased this baby machine with the idea of using it in hard to access bedsits etc,you know the ones up several flights of stairs, round the corner and keep going and then you find  a room the size of a shoebox  ;D
It would never be powerful enough to clean a house full of carpet ,it  would take a month of Sundays.  -John
