Stopped the worry of first clean streaks.
« on: May 05, 2009, 11:00:28 pm »
Asked a customer to open the small windows, and wipe round the parts we cannot see.... under the frame opening...

thats where the dirt is... that is what runs down as dirty water, once we have left...

told her to leave one window as normal, and to ring me back if  streaks appear later.

she was a friendly person who was intrigued by the wfp system...

so easy to test.

she rang me back , as expected, streaks down the un wiped window.

she wiped it, i washed it .

perfect.!

i know we cant all ask our customers to do this, but for a long while now, i have thought thats where the problem was.

so i thought i would tell you.  ;) ;D

If you make sure the top openers stop dripping before you do the window beneath it, it shouldn't happen in the first place though?  ???

Or turn the flow off, catch the drips with the brush, that works too.

one drip, after you have gone, thats all it takes... most of the time i do wait and wipe....and watch.

first cleans are very dodgy, especially on main roads , and /or have not been cleaned in a long while.

i spend a heck of a lot of time on them....  how many times have you seen a run down the centre when you are chatting to a customer, long after you have cleaned them?

hoping it will not streak?

well i just thought i would share that with you.

because it works , and i care... ;)

not waiting and hoping , because i dont care.
lol

True it can be really tricky, some of them always seem to drip, it can really drive you mad, I only have a couple of houses like these, but it's a real pain.

Biggest problem by far is where the seal meets the glass, the frame can always be washed clean but the seals can give up dirt for months.

I always clean them by hand on the first clean inc all the frames and openers. You eliminate the possibility of future problems. They get this type of deep clean once a year and are happy to pay for the privilege.

If you fit it in with a gutter and facia clean you can command "top dollar", you just need to know how to sell it.

And the dreaded letterbox runs falling on the bottom door panel.
