SL-X poles...
« on: April 29, 2009, 07:22:55 pm »
Being a SL-X user I would love to hear from those who have had a pole for a year or more and hear any stories you may have about your pole, it's use and how it is coping...

Cheers
Dave.

Used mine solid for a year, fair bit of wear to the sections, bit of wear to the little plastic shells in the cams but looked to have plenty of life left in it so sold it on and bought the new version.
Newer one is very similar to the original, can't see it lasting any longer to be honest but the extra length means my S2 stays in the van a lot longer these days.

I had one from the first batch and its still going strong. Went back for the service Alex was doing on them, and it came back like a new pole. I wash it through 1-2 times per week, and every time i put the pole back in the van, i wipe the pole hose ready for the next job. I haven't really noticed too much wear, and i maybe have to tighten up the top clamp every couple of days. I have been really impressed with the pole, its light, rigid, strong and you can do up's and downs with it. If it broke tomorrow i would buy another. I would probably be on my 3rd X-tel pole by now, so for me it was worth the £400.00.
