Lots of Foam
« on: April 08, 2009, 04:20:23 am »
For some reason I am getting lots of Foam.  I do not usually have a problem

I use Alltec anti form but does not appear to have much effect

I am wondering if foam is caused by odour clear in the tank do not normally do that.

today I tried ultimate Master with no add ons and still lots of foam

Tried washing out tanks etc

It could be the case Ian that the carpets you are cleaning have been cleaned at some point with a vax, bissel type machine, these diy machines are growing more popular at the moment and you can pick one up for £50 at asda.
Most foam is produced in the hoses, have you been using your extra hoses to clean during the nice weather, trying to keep the machine out doors?
Have you tried mixing the de-foamer with a little water and sucking up through the hoses?

It's a bad sign Ian..............When did you last have a tetanus jag. Suggest you lie down in a dard quiet room for a while.

As far as the machine's concerned I would turn up the vacuum and " dunk " the wand in a basin of water as it sounds like a blockage at the business end of the wand.

I run a Bane unit here in the states, with the economy being so bad, many people are doing the second cleaning for the year themselves. In 15 years of cleaning, I have never seen such soapy carpet. The consumer often uses too much soap, or the wrong product in those low power rentals and then soak the carpet.

I have tried other defoaming products, but I have to say Bane Clene's seems to work the best. I know its all pretty much the same stuff. An old timer, told me to add just a touch of a citris based cleaning solvent to the waste tank with the defoamer, I think it does seem to help.

Actually Susan has hit the nail on the head, try some grease break from HM in your solution and it will kill the foam at source.
