Yes they do Mike.
Especially whyen new, the tips of the "bristles" are square cut and more aggressive.
My Chipmunk brushes needed wearing in. I have two sets of Gold brushes and even now after 15 months with the newer set, they're still a little more aggressive than my 5 year old ones.
