I HAVE JUST SECURED A NEW CONTRACT FOR A COMPANY IN GLASGOW THAT SUPPLY WATER COOLERS ALL OVER SCOTLAND.

SOMETIMES THEY LEAK OR OVERFLOW AND THEY USUALLY SEND THE ENGINEER BACK WITH A VAX MACHINE, MORE OFTEN THAT NOT TO NO AVAIL.

THEY DECIDED TO SOURCE A CARPET CLEANING CO AND I SECURED IT, MONEY NOT  FAB BUT YOU ARE TALKING 10 MINS A JOB TO REMOVE A FEW WATER MARKS FROM CARPETS, WILL INVOICE QUARTERLY SO THAT THE PAYMENTS ARE BIGGER.

HAD CONTRACT THREE WEEKS AND HAD 7 CALL OUTS AND THE OLD PUZZI 100 COMES INTO ITS OWN KNOW FOR SPOT REMOVAL. UNLOAD, IN THE BUILDING, CLEAN, RE LOAD AND GO ALL IN ALL ABOUT 30 MINS PLUS TRAVEL.

ALSO GOOD FOR A NETWORKING POINT AS YOU ARE IN LOTS OF BIG OFFICE BLOCKS AND USUALLY DEALING WITH OFFICE MANAGER.

MIGHT BE WORTH INVESTIGATING IN YOUR AREA?

what happens  Scott when your asked to travel to the other end of scotland? as you said  they cover all of Scotland, Do they pay your expenses? or is the price the same no matter where ?

costs are post code defined, cheaper fro glasgow but rate goes up depending on postal code!

Basically just works out at what you want paid per hour, including travel time! Jobs are generally minimalistic so to speak.

Nice payment every three months though.

remember doing the w@w stuff with chem dry used to hate going to manky office carpets and they would only let u remove the watermark and nowt else looked so bloody stupid haxing 1m2 clean cpt and the rest dirty,but as you say what an opportunity to say well hey we can clean the rest for you at an extra cost of course

hope it brings you a nice little extra revenue stream and ill take a kick at the next water cooler i come accross in edinburgh for you

Is it you dictating payment terms or them?

If I buy a product say from nestle supplier chocolate eggs, packed with surprises! The want payment for it! Granted contract 30 days ok 90 bit ott, tell you now your bank will frown on this payment terms!

How do you remove the stains?

Ive had a few of these and they wouldnt move or kept coming back, to haunt me.

It is not a massive chunk o cash so i invoice quarterly so that i can see the real benifit of the return. Bank would only frown if i was chapping on their door for cash and i had bad debtors.

When I brought banks into it was not meant to be cap in hand to them but it could be as you may need to rob peter to pay paul, which we all do at times, but deliberately set yourself up in this way cant understand it? Can you quickly do a business plan for me how this works!
