Clinton,
I hate it to be honest, i have tried to pay people to do it for us.
been through probably a dozen staff, all of which had to be sacked for not delivering them. IMO constant leafleting is the best form of advertising there is and the cheapest. Unfortunately the only way to make sure they get delivered is to do them yourself.
The new postcards from DP are working wonders, we have posted about 3000 ish and had about 15 calls 11 of which have booked. Hope it continues, nothing worse than walking streets delivering and getting no response.

Hi guys,

I started doing leaflets myself for an hour a day 3 weeks ago (approx 200 delivered per day) so thats a 1000 a week on top of the firm I pay to do them for me as well. The first week I tried it I got work to the value of £510 plus a woman called on Friday who got the leaflet  3 weeks ago and asked me to go around for a quote which turned out to be £160. She was a little surprised it was THAT much and was 'going to ask hubby'. Well if she does get back to me then that will £670 worth of work for an hour a days leafleting. And that figure does not include any referals or repeat business which I have been promised either!

At the end of the day if you only get £250 worth of work a week on average from doing them yourself that is an extra 12,000 a year...not to be sniffed at! Do it for 2 hours a day and maybe you can double that to 24,000 a year or more?

Walking is very hard work and when you get in to your mid to late 30s like me it becomes harder and harder but it keeps you fit and I am determined to get back to a 36" waist!!

There are no easy ways to make money in this business!

Hey Clinton

It's not easy getting up and doing an hours walk in the morning and if it's raining I stay put believe me!! But the better weather is just around the corner so should make like easier for us all. On days you have nothing on try doing an hour in the morning, have a nice lunch then another hour in the afternoon?

You are never guaranteed work and can be soul destroying for some when you stick out 200 and don't even get a sniff but its cheap advertising and is more than worth it in the long run

Hi Guys

Leaflets like websites is a numbers game.

I built my business on leaflets and an hour a day won't kill you and if you do it 3-4 times a week , you will see rewards in a few weeks.

I found my fitness levels for football increased when I started leafletting, an added bonus.

It is also good for the soul, much better than sitting around getting depressed about having no work.

Cheers

Doug

Sometimes people can't be bothered to get off their backsides and get out there to deliver a couple of hundred leaflets but, once you are out, it's easy and if you get the old Ipod switched on, an hour or two will fly by.

Every time I've done a leaflet drop (usually only a couple of hundred a time) I've had work.  Sometimes it comes weeks or months later when people have kept the leaflet but it always happens.

There's no point in people complaining that they are quiet.  In my opinion, it's better to have a box of leaflets/postcards in the van or house and get out there and deliver them when it's quiet.  Those who are prepared to put in the hours on the less glamourous side will reap the rewards in the long run.

All depends how busy you are Colin.  Lots of people on here are busy enough and don't see the need to deliver leaflets but, for those who aren't, an hour a day keeps the bank manager at bay!

I was out leafleting this morning at 8am ( same yesterday) I naturally wake up at 6.30ish so I like to use my early morning.

I find 90mins to be the optimum amount of time before i start to get bored I spend 15mins driving to the next small town ( 3000homes) I plan and doing all of this town in a month then repeat.

these people who plan on leafleting all day or even just a morning never keep it up, 2hrs is doable but 90mins for me is perfect.

Hi Guys

It is about being consistent, I used to set myself a target of 1000 per week, acheivable without too much effort and it taught me the sort of response which was possible.

I then found a really good girl to deliver plus loads of less good ::)

Cheers

Believe me you dont have to start waiting for the warmer weather...start delivering them and after 10 mins you will have soon warmed up!! I go at it fast so that I do sweat but the faster you go the more you get out!!
